In 2001, before the remodel Began, the old Texaco motif and logos dominated the old facade.
During Construction in 2004, the former building's rooflines were extended and raised, to accommodate the new structure.
After several months of construction, the Fox Island Store is open again. One significant difference was the closure of the sit-down deli.
A new coffee center is one of the many amenities that were added during the remodel, with a cappuccino machine, hot cocoa, and more.
Fox Island resident Matt Wiley makes a purchase at the newly remodeled Fox Island Store, as cashier Susan Bruner and store owner Dwayne Herzog look on.
When asked about this
major change, store owner Dwayne Herzog
said "the sit down deli is a thing of the past, and we have
replaced it with a new take out deli." The new deli will
feature take-out and finger food such as fried chicken, pizzas,
sandwiches, snacks, and Dreyer's hand dipped ice cream.
"The old deli space is going to be office space" Dwayne
said. "I am not at liberty to disclose the tenant as of yet,
...until the lease is signed".
A large selection of wines and snacks are featured in the newly remodeled store.
A larger beverage cooler adds a greater selection of chilled beverages, plus an expanded snack offering, with many popular brands. Hand dipped Dreyer's ice cream is available in the take out deli.
Completed in 2014, Zog's on Fox Island offers a nice gathering place for Fox Island residents.
