The Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade, sponsored by the Gig Harbor Yacht Club, will make the Harbor sparkle once again on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, beginning at 5:00 PM. A long line of brightly decorated boats, including fishing vessels, pleasure boats and kayaks, will parade around Gig Harbor. In past years there have been over 60 vessels in the parade!
All area boaters are encouraged to participate in the parade, whether or not they are members of the Gig Harbor Yacht Club. Just put some Christmas lights on your boat and join in the fun. Skippers can sign up to receive details and more information by registering at www.gigharboryc.com. There is no charge, and no commitment.
The parade route is twice around the harbor and can be viewed from all points along the shore with the best viewing from Jerisich Dock, Bogue Viewing Platform, Maritime Pier and Ancich Waterfront Park.
We are hoping for good weather, many boats, many lights, and enjoyment for all, whether on ship or ashore.

The Fox Island Flower Show
Saturday, August 9, 2025
The Fox Island Flower Show will again be part of the ever popular FICRA Fair at Nichols Center on Saturday, August 10th. All area residents are invited to bring their special flowers and vegetables to this judged competition. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity for all local residents to share their gardening skills. Ribbons will be awarded to the winners in the following categories: single stem flower, bouquet/floral arrangements, container plants and vegetable/fruit displays. All entries must be homegrown.
A separate children's division provides an opportunity for youngsters to share in the fun of gardening. Ribbons will be awarded to children in each of the four categories and each child will receive a participation ribbon. Don't miss this opportunity to share some gardening fun with your children and grandchildren.
Drop your entries off between 8:30 and 10:00 AM on the morning of the show. Judging will be between 10 and 11 AM. The show will be open for your enjoyment between 11:30 and 4:00 PM.
This popular event is sponsored by the Fox Island Garden Club. For further information contact Barbara Anderson at 253-549-5742. For those of you who don't have a green thumb, stop by the show and see what your friends and neighbors are growing.
